Discipleship with Purpose: Following Paul, Raising Timothy, Walking with Mary, Equipping Phoebe

In a culture driven by individual achievement, there's a quietly powerful call echoing from Scripture—a call to grow, guide, and be guided. I recently came across a profound phrase in a Bible reading plan: “Pursue a Paul. Train a Timothy. Be mentored by a Mary. Prepare a Phoebe.” At first glance, it sounds poetic. But the more I sat with it, the more I realized—it’s a roadmap for spiritual growth, leadership development, and legacy in the body of Christ. 🌱 Pursue a Paul: Seek Wisdom Upstream The Apostle Paul was a mentor, theologian, and disciple-maker. To pursue a Paul is to recognize that we’re not meant to journey alone. We need a voice of experience to challenge our assumptions, inspire our faith, and speak truth into our blind spots. Mentors like Paul don’t just share knowledge—they share their lives. And pursuing one is a mark of humility and hunger. 🕯️ Train a Timothy: Invest Downstream Just as we receive, we’re called to pass it on. Paul poured his life into Timothy so ...

🌱 Faith Like a Mustard Seed

Scripture Reference: Matthew 17:14–20 Have you ever felt like your faith was too small to matter? Like your prayers were too weak or your efforts too little to make any difference? In Matthew 17, Jesus says something beautifully simple yet incredibly powerful: “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” — Matthew 17:20 This devotion is a gentle reminder: It’s not the size of our faith that matters—it’s the sincerity and direction of it. 🔍 The Power of Small Things Let’s start with a simple question: Can something very small make a big difference? Absolutely! A spark can start a wildfire A single drop of water can, over time, carve through stone A kind word can lift a heavy heart A mustard seed—tiny as it is—grows into a tree strong enough to give shelter Faith works the same way. You don’t need giant faith to move mountains—you just need r...

Who Is My Neighbour? Living Out the Parable of the Good Samaritan

Who Is My Neighbour? Living Out the Parable of the Good Samaritan One of the most powerful and convicting teachings of Jesus Christ is found in the Parable of the Good Samaritan, recorded in Luke 10:25–37 .  It begins with a lawyer asking Jesus, "Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" Jesus replies with a question: "What is written in the law?" The man responds correctly, citing the two great commandments: love God and love your neighbour. But seeking to justify himself, he then asks, "And who is my neighbour?" To answer, Jesus tells this story: A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell among thieves, who stripped him, wounded him , and left him half dead.   A priest came by and saw him but passed on the other side. Likewise, a Levite came, looked on him, and also passed by.   But a certain Samaritan, when he saw the man, had compassion. He went to him, bound up his wounds, poured in oil and wine, set him on his own beas...
